By naming Jesus “king”, we acknowledge him and his way of living as the wellspring of our goodness and salvation. We acknowledge our status as his “subjects,” called to relate to others as he did. We acknowledge our shared inheritance as the “holy ones” who receive life through him.

November 14, 2010 – 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

It is the age between our Lord’s first coming and His last. We live in the new world begun by His life, death, Resurrection and Ascension, by the sending of His Spirit upon the Church. But we await the day when He will come again in glory.
